Attorney David C. McKenzie III is the founder of McKenzie Law Firm, P.C., a boutique criminal defense firm known for its high-touch client experience, strong courtroom advocacy, and results-driven representation. With a practice focused exclusively on criminal defense, Mr. McKenzie represents individuals across Montgomery, Chester, and Bucks Counties, and regularly appears in courts throughout Philadelphia, Delaware, Lancaster, Berks, Northampton, and Monroe Counties.
Mr. McKenzie’s practice spans the full spectrum of criminal defense, including DUI defense, drug offenses, assault cases, theft crimes, traffic violations, expungements, and pardons. Over the course of his career, he has handled hundreds of DUI cases and brings extensive courtroom experience, negotiation skill, and strategic insight to every matter he takes on. Clients consistently highlight his accessibility, responsiveness, and ability to guide them confidently through difficult situations—qualities that have helped the firm earn nearly 1,000 five-star Google reviews across its offices.
A graduate of Franklin & Marshall College, where he was a four-year member of the football team and named Offensive MVP by his teammates, Mr. McKenzie went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Penn State Dickinson School of Law. While in law school, he interned with the Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office, where he gained early, hands-on trial experience—an opportunity rarely afforded to law students.
Following graduation, Mr. McKenzie continued with the Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office as an Assistant District Attorney, prosecuting a wide range of adult and juvenile cases from inception through appeal. This experience shaped the foundation of his legal approach: meticulous preparation, persuasive advocacy, and a deep understanding of how cases are built and challenged inside the courtroom.
In 2007, Mr. McKenzie transitioned into private practice with Cipriani & Werner, P.C., focusing on casualty and workers’ compensation defense litigation. While this broadened his legal skillset, he ultimately returned to his passion for criminal law, later serving as Assistant Counsel for the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, where he prosecuted cases under Pennsylvania’s updated Dog Law—playing a role in enforcing legislation aimed at addressing the state’s puppy mill problem.
In 2010, Mr. McKenzie founded McKenzie Law Firm, P.C. with a clear vision: to provide clients with high-level criminal defense paired with direct, consistent communication and personalized attention. Since then, the firm has expanded to multiple office locations and built a reputation as a trusted resource for individuals facing serious legal challenges.
Beyond his legal practice, Mr. McKenzie served his community as a West Norriton Township Commissioner for eight years, including time as Vice President of the Board. He remains committed to public service through ongoing community involvement, charitable contributions to local food banks and clothing donation programs, and by supporting educational initiatives, including scholarships offered through his firm.
Outside the courtroom, Mr. McKenzie values time with his family. He and his wife, Chrissy, enjoy traveling and creating meaningful experiences with their son, who is active in baseball and golf. Whether exploring new cities, hiking, attending Philadelphia Phillies games, or continuing their tradition of visiting a different NFL stadium each year, the McKenzie family embraces opportunities to stay active, connected, and engaged. They also enjoy traveling to tropical destinations, often seeking out more private, off-the-beaten-path islands to unwind and recharge. The family has also enjoyed memorable trips, including RV travel to Niagara Falls and across the country to Tennessee.
